The short version
CalcMega's calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are processed on your own device and are not sent to, or stored on, our servers. We do not require accounts, and we do not sell personal data, we barely collect any.
What we collect, and why
- Calculator inputs: nothing. All computation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Closing the page discards your entries; we never see them.
- Contact form messages: what you send us. If you use the contact form, your name, email address, subject and message are stored on our server solely so we can read and reply to them. We do not use them for marketing and do not share them with third parties.
- Server access logs: standard technical data. Like virtually every web host, our server keeps routine access logs (pages requested, timestamps, browser type, approximate network address). These are used to keep the site secure, measure which calculators are popular in aggregate, and diagnose problems. They are not used to identify or profile individual visitors.
Cookies and local storage
- Public pages set no tracking or advertising cookies. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising networks on CalcMega, so no third-party cookies are placed by using our calculators.
- Essential cookie (admin area only). The password-protected admin area uses a single session cookie so the site owner stays signed in. It is never set for ordinary visitors.
- Local storage. Some calculators may remember your last inputs in your own browser's local storage so a page refresh doesn't erase your work. That data never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
- If we ever introduce analytics or advertising in future, we will update this policy first and describe exactly what is used.
Third parties
Our pages load a small number of technical resources from content-delivery networks (for example, the Tailwind CSS framework). Those providers may see a standard web request from your browser, as with any website. We do not embed social-media trackers or share data with data brokers.
Your rights
If you have contacted us, you may ask at any time what message data we hold about you, and ask us to delete it. Write to contact@calcmega.com and we will act on your request promptly. Because calculator inputs never reach us, there is nothing further we could hold about your calculations.
Children
CalcMega is a general-audience educational tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
